Update November 25, 2017 – The latest SuperSU 2.82 SR5 and SuperSU 2.82 stable builds are now available for download. These packages will help root the latest Android 8.0 Oreo, Android 7.1.2 Nougat or earlier. The SuperSU 2.79 SR3, on the other hand, remain available as as Beta version for Nougat. The stable SuperSU 2.82 stable was recently released in support of many new devices and many firmware. The original developer named, Chainfire, actually brought the concept of rooting an Android system. The development progressed for several years and now we have a stable solution to root almost any Android device running latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat, 7.1.1 Nougat, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the 5.1.1 Lollipop and KitKat versions as well.
Jan 30, 2019 Are you going to root your Android Phone? If yes then use SuperSU Zip file for easy and full root. This is the best and recommended method to Root any Android Phone. Here you can Download SuperSU Zip file and know how to root using SuperSU Zip & TWRP recovery.
The developer has already released a stable version of SuperSU with v2.78 that supported most of the devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or later. But it lacked the SELinux support for the Nougat. However now, SuperSU 2.79 SR1 shall use it’s own ‘u:r:supersu:s0’ context to run in; which would prevent some conflicts or force closes with the system or root apps. As this is a Beta version, it may still cause some root apps or even the firmware to malfunction. As an alternative, you can also us the previous SuperSU 2.79 stable listed below.
The new version also brings performance improvements for the Android devices which are heavy on apps. So usually, devices with many root applications asking for root permissions would make the device lag on Nougat. However now, this won’t be a problem with the newest 2.79 version.
Update: The SuperSU 2.82 SR5 is now available for download with support for Android 8.0.0 Oreo on the Google Pixel XL.

Download the latest version of Chainfire’s SuperSU apk and flashable zip
Firstly, installing the SuperSu apk does not make your device rooted. The SuperSu apk is only useful if you already have root access. For unrooted devices, you have to flash it via custom recovery like TWRP or CWM.
Secondly, read our full how to root an Android article to learn how to root your device. There are two ways to download SuperSU app:
- Firstly, download SuperSu via Google Play Store for free. However, you need root access to run this app. Also, you might not get the latest version on the Play Store. Additionally, SuperSu won’t work if the phone isn’t rooted already.
- Secondly, the SuperSu Binary Zip file is also available in a recovery flashable zip which is downloadable through the official Chainfire website. However, unlike the Play Store version, the latest version of the SuperSU is always available via their website or right here on OrDuh!
- Finally, although the package is a flashable zip, you can extract the files on a PC, then grab ‘Superuser.apk’ and install it on your Android phone.
